The Scandalous Brazilian vs. Kęstutis Kavaliauskas: “I Have to Let My Demons Out for a Walk”

18-03-2025

“Rodrigo is known for his provocations, but I am UNPREDICTABILITY! Maybe more like the dog that barks less but bites more. And this will be a dogfight. We’ll go all the way,” Kęstutis Kavaliauskas says with a menacing smile as he prepares for his battle against the scandalous Brazilian well-known to Lithuanians—Rodrigo Mineiro.

On March 22, the Twins Bet Arena in Vilnius will transform into a battlefield where two martial artists with contrasting philosophies and personalities will clash. The Brazilian promises chaos and an uncontrollable storm of emotions, while the Lithuanian embodies an icy calm beneath which something terrifying lurks.

Rodrigo Mineiro, whose fighting style is often described as a “bloody carnival,” enjoys the controversial reputation he has built in Lithuania: “I love it! If people talk about you, it means you’re doing something right. I don’t care if they love or hate me—what matters is that they react. I’m not here to be nice; I’m here to put on a show.”

When asked if he fears that Kavaliauskas might silence his “music” in the first round, Rodrigo’s confidence overflows: “Kęstutis can try. Let him come in with his plan, let him try to turn off the lights. But there’s no room for plans in the ring—everything happens live. If the music stops, it’ll only be so it can come back even louder. Because I’m not the type to stay quiet when someone tries to shut me up. Oh, and greetings to Krilavičius. I’m not satisfied with a 1:1 record—we need to settle this once and for all.”

Meanwhile, Kęstutis has already sent a subtle warning to his opponent: “For me to be a warm and calm person, I have to let my demons out for a walk somewhere. Try to guess where my demons will be walking on March 22…”
