Champion of Ukraine and participant of many global tournaments in the World, 27-year-old legend of kickboxing and Muay Thai, Sergii Lashchenko (Ukraine) – the next participant of the four men heavyweight King Of Kings World GP 2014 In Gdansk. The event will take place in Ergo Arena, Gdansk-Sopot on October 17. It will be global kickboxing event this autumn in Poland.
Despite his young age, Lashchenko was and still is a participant of many world wide events of kickboxing. He was a champion of Ukraine of Muay Thai IFMA and twice won the Ukrainian Cup. In non-Olympic sports at the Olympics in 2008 in Busan, Korea he won the bronze medal. In 2009 he was European champion already. In the beginning of his professional career he reached the finals in K-1 World Grand Prix in Lodz, losing only against Zabit Samedov “Maugli”.
During the last 6 years he fought in the most prestigious rings of Japan and other countries. In 2011, he was celebrating his triumph in SuperKombat World GP 2011. Sergii has very impressive list of victories against such worldwide known opponents like Ishmael Londta, Rico Verhoeven – the current champion of Glory, polish veteran of Muay Thai Tomasz Nowak.
Lashchenko began his career at the “Captain Odessa” gym, then he moved to the Dutch “Mike’s Gym”, after he went to the legendary “Chakuriki” gym with no less legendary coach Thom Harinck and finally he returned to his home and trains in Odessa. The fight list of Sergii Lashchenko is very long: 31 wins and 12 defeats. Now the ukrainian fighter is seen as one of the main contenders of HW Grand Prix.
