One of the biggest fight cards of the year takes place this Saturday November 16 when the King of Kings organization returns to the Siemens Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania.
KOK events in Vilnius are some of the best, with huge crowds and hard-hitting fights featuring top Lithuanian and international fighters.
Saturday’s event is a little more special. It’s the 20-year anniversary celebration of Bushido MMA, the mixed martial arts promotion affiliated with KOK.
Bushido MMA began promoting events back in 1999. KOK President Donatas Simanaitis was not only the organizer of the events, he also coached some of the fighters. Top Lithuanian MMA fighters Marius Zaromskis and the late Remigijus Morkevicius competed for the organization before gaining international recognition with strong performances overseas.
Keeping with the 20th anniversary celebration, Saturday’s event includes a number of MMA bouts, including a contest featuring UFC veteran Julija Stoliarenko and a special tag match. Tag matches were held on the early MMA Bushido events.
Kickboxing matches include bouts featuring KOK World Lightweight Champion Henrikas Viksraitis and reigning KOK Europe Heavyweight Champion Dzevad “BH Machine” Poturak.
2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Evaldas Petrauskas faces Andrii Boryshpolets of Ukraine in a professional boxing match. Petrauskas is 2-0 with 1 KO since turning pro last year.
Before the KOK 80 fight card, the Fight Box KOK 80 Hero’s Series takes place. An MMA Bushido 70 kg Title bout between Alessio Leoni of Italy and Ervinas Fokinas of Lithuania headlines the Hero’s Series.
The action begins at 19:00 local time, which is 5 p.m. in London and 12 p.m. in New York. The event will be televised internationally on Fight Box HD, and streamed live and worldwide on the KOK Fights TV streaming platform.
