Grand Prix Four: Knockout, Tactics, Cold Nerves, or Determination?

Who is the strongest lightweight fighter in Lithuania? Whose technique and strategy are the most effective? On November 16, the select four – Lukas Grigaitis, Evaldas Balsys, Benas Sorochovas, and Deividas Michnevicius – will battle it out in the KOK HERO’S tournament to find out. The winner of this Grand Prix in the -71kg category will earn the title of the best Lithuanian lightweight fighter.

In the first semifinal fight, Benas Sorochovas will face Deividas Michnevicius. Just weeks ago at a KOK event in Slovakia, Benas swept through his opponents with knockouts and reveals that he relies more on intuition than strict planning. “I’ll reveal my plan through my actions in the ring,” Benas says. “Fighting any of these fighters will be interesting since they’re all strong and worthy of respect.” His approach to the fight is simple – he steps into the ring to win, no matter who the opponent is. Meanwhile, Deividas, who sees himself in the final, wants to fight the strongest and showcase his skill and mastery. “For me, the most important thing is to demonstrate my mastery and prove that I’m the strongest,” Deividas says. He openly admits he won’t make predictions about the outcome but knows the final will be a decisive challenge.

Lukas Grigaitis, known for his cold nerves and strategic approach to fights, says that his plan against Evaldas Balsys will be based on analysis and caution – every mistake in the ring could be crucial. “If I see an opening, I won’t hesitate to strike,” says Lukas. “The fight could end quickly if I land a hit, but it all depends on the situation.” Lukas mentioned that, if he makes it through the first stage, he’d like to meet Deividas Michnevicius in the final. Meanwhile, Evaldas Balsys, who enters the ring with determination and aiming for a quick victory, knows that every fight has its rhythm but plans to put in all his effort to deliver an intense and energetic performance for the fans. “I hope to put on a great fight with plenty of action, but it all depends on how the fight unfolds,” says Evaldas, who wants to face the strongest opponent in the final.

From calculated tactics to aggressive attacks – this tournament will surely be exciting, packed with not only impressive technical strikes but also powerful, unforgettable emotions.

An updated fight card for the MMA BUSHIDO/KOK HERO’S tournament has been announced. The match between Laurynas Urbonavicius and his opponent Nills Van Noord is postponed to March due to an injury to Van Noord’s neck vertebrae. Danielius Grebliunas’s opponent has also changed – now he will face an even stronger Dutch fighter, Carlo Vrolijken, who holds a black belt in judo and a purple belt in BJJ.
